Healthcare Success (HS), a digital-first, fully integrated marketing agency, is seeking an experienced SEO Director to lead our SEO team.
This position requires deep, hands-on SEO expertise, as well as agency experience and management of 3 or more SEO staff. We are seeking a department head, capable of overseeing the big picture, all the way through the supervision of daily details related to local, on-site, and off-site SEO.
The SEO Director will provide strategy and executional leadership for 20+ clients, manage an internal SEO team (content, technical, and local), work closely with account and project management teams, and support new business outreach and pitches.
The SEO Director is a strong communicator, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will be able to convey SEO principles to non-initiated clients, mentor and build relationships with internal SEO staff, and deliver detailed work plans to guide agency SEO progress.
Healthcare Success is a healthcare-focused team of experienced professionals. Although healthcare experience is a plus, the ideal candidate should be eager to learn and expand their medical knowledge across diverse health disciplines and verticals to understand the higher SEO standards applied to the healthcare sector.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of SEO specialists and oversee the implementation of strategy, recurring technical/content/local audits, task prioritization, and competitive analyses.
- Set SEO performance goals and KPIs, such as search visibility, organic traffic, search rankings, search engine visibility, keyword rankings, content/page conversions and performance, and GBP enhancements.
- Create and maintain an SEO team culture of budget precision, efficiency, and agency profitability.
- Work closely with HS agency leadership, and account and project management to establish consistent standards for SEO audits, strategic recommendations, project and task planning, competitive and keyword research, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.
- Close collaboration with HS paid search and paid social team members on performance data and opportunities.
Director of SEO Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working as an SEO agency department lead or a similar role
- Knowledge of the best on-site and off-site SEO practices
- Experience using the most popular website crawlers (ScreamingFrog, DeepCrawl, and Moz), SEO analysis tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, and SEOptimer), and web analytics software (mostly Google Analytics)
- Experience working collaboratively with others in an agency system such as Teamwork.com, Monday, Asana, or similar
- Daily time tracking required
- Strong leadership, managerial, mentoring and motivational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical, organized
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Healthcare SEO and marketing experience is ideal, but not required
